Republican Unity

We all know the cliche; `If you can't beat `em, join `em'

In the case of northeast Republicans, especially those of us in too blue Connecticut; it should be:
`We can't beat `em unless we join together'

Ralph Nader - unsafe at any age

Nader calls for granting K9 voting rights!

One of this country's best known homegrown weirdos is so horrified at the prospect of Connecticut electing Linda McMahon that he's publicly calling for dogs to vote: "I would urge a cocker spaniel.."

It's no wonder why the left has been fighting any sort of voter identification regulations, as it's obvious most dogs don't possess any sort of ID as does the dog in the photo to the left.

Tobacco - Still the Golden Leaf

on Tuesday, July 24, 2012
A brianiac named Bonnie Herzog allows me to subscribe to her Wells Fargo emails despite my not being a client.
(I emailed her, as a former tobacco company employee - I'm a big fan.)

I've followed her for ages - through two employers. Bonnie has the ability to make easy to understand sense out of a lot of confusing raw data.
She's got to be waaaay smart.
I was going to make some comment about how from her photo she seems pretty easy on the eyes too; but that would make me appear sexist and since that's not the case I won't make any such remarks.

For the 1st 189 years of this country's history,
tobacco was our number one export.
 Tobacco earned the name
"The Golden Leaf"
and it appears it remains true today.

Last evenings email included this:

Quotes on the Second Amendment

on Sunday, July 22, 2012
Every time some lunatic goes berserk with a gun we wind up hearing the shrill whine of the weak and the left. (Is that redundant?)

The Founding Fathers on Arms

Brother George Washington

"Firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself.  … the very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference — they deserve a place of honor with all that's good."
George Washington

First President of the United States

"The supposed quietude of a good man allures the ruffian; while on the other hand arms, like laws, discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as property. The same balance would be preserved were all the world destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside … Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them."
Thomas Paine

"To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them."
Richard Henry Lee
American Statesman, 1788

"The great object is that every man be armed." and "Everyone who is able may have a gun."
Patrick Henry
American Patriot

"Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?"
Patrick Henry
American Patriot

"Those who hammer their guns into plowshares will plow for those who do not."
Thomas Jefferson
Third President of the United States

"The constitutions of most of our States assert that all power is inherent in the people; that … it is their right and duty to be at all times armed; … "
Thomas Jefferson
letter to Justice John Cartwright, June 5, 1824. ME 16:45.

"The best we can help for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed."
Alexander Hamilton

The Big Lie:

Obama-Care stands, Republicans more motivated than ever

on Thursday, June 28, 2012

We may be looking the SCOTUS decision a little backwards.

As Republicans the last we want to do is find ourselves depending on the Supreme Court to legislate.

Further, without this nonsense remaining in place we had no assurance of a national repeat of the 2010 elections, where we saw over 200 more Republican state legislators elected than even in the 1984 landslide.

Now however, thanks to Roberts we're virtually assured of a Republican victory this November.

I only hope that the re-write includes aggressive limits on malpractice penalties as well as a massive curtailment of the FDA. Those two would dramatically reduce overall health-care costs.

Frankly, we should be tickled to death with the situation; the stock market took an immediate dive, everyone is all whipped up and the Tea Party is now foaming at the mouth like a pack of rabid dogs.

How can anything that gets so many people motivated be bad thing?

Keep your Democratic friends busy for hours!
